Classes L und T

Who dreamt of driving tractors as a child? In agricultural or forestry, this dream is part of everyday life and young people are eligible to obtain the corresponding licence.

Class L

Tractors (national class)

  • which by their design are intended for use for agricultural and forestry purposes and are used for such purposes,
  • with a maximum design speed of not more than 40 km/h and combinations of these vehicles if they
  • are driven at a speed of not more than 25 km/h

Self-propelled machinery, self-propelled feed mixers, forklifts and other industrial trucks

  • each with a maximum speed of not more than 25 km/h as determined by the type of construction, and
  • combinations of these vehicles and trailers.

16 years

Class T

  • with a maximum design speed of no more than 60 km/h and
  • which, according to their design, are intended for use for agricultural and forestry purposes and are used for such purposes (in each case also with trailers)

Self-propelled machinery or self-propelled feed mixers

  • with a maximum speed of not more than 40 km/h, as determined by the type of construction,
  • which, according to their design, are intended for use for agricultural and forestry purposes and are used for such purposes (in each case also with trailers)

16 years

Class T is valid indefinitely

Inclusion:

Classes L and AM

Notes:

Category T tractors with a maximum speed of more than 40 km/h due to their design may only be driven by holders who have reached the age of 18.
