PR375: FSSC 22000 Version 6 Lead Auditor Training Course (2685)
The aim of this course is to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills required to perform first, second and third party audits of food safety management systems against FSSC 22000, in accordance with ISO 19011, ISO 22003-1 and ISO 17021-1, as applicable. The scheme includes ISO 22000, sector specific requirements (ISO/TS 22002-x series) and FSSC 22000 additional requirements.
In detail, the training course will provide amongst others the following technical knowledge and practical skills to become a competent Lead Auditor:
- Knowledge about the purpose of a food safety management system (FSMS), FSMS standards, business benefits of the improved performance of the FSMS
- Knowledge about the role of an auditor and skills to plan, conduct, report and follow up a FSMS audit within an audit programme in accordance with FSSC 22000, ISO 22003-1, ISO 17021 and the guidelines in ISO 19011
- Knowledge about differences between First, Second and Third Party Audits
- Knowledge about differences and relationship of the related standards and prerequisite programmes
- Knowledge and skills to prepare an audit: The audit process, Auditor responsibilities, Planning the audit, Conducting the audit (including role play activities), auditing food safety management system requirements, evaluation of evidences, evaluation of auditees FSMS and hazard control process, review and evaluation of auditees planning, implementation and analysis processes
- Knowledge and skills necessary to generate audit findings
- Reporting audits
- Following up the audit
Successful completion of the course (continuous assessment plus examination) will result in issuance of a certificate which may be used to support an application to become registered as an IRCA auditor. Being certified as an IRCA auditor is a clear statement that you are a recognized, qualified and capable auditing professional.
Recommended prior Knowledge
The course has been designed for food safety professionals seeking an understanding of knowldge and skills needed to audit effectively against FSSC 22000. Knowledge about the core elements of management systems, the PDCA-cycle, the principles of FSMS, PRPs, HACCP, national and local FSMS legislation and the requirements of FSSC 22000, gained by e.g. attendance in a FSMS foundation course are essential.
