BRCGS ETRS RA – Risk assessment in food production facilities
Show that your products are manufactured under fair conditions. A BRCGS Ethical Trade and Responsible Sourcing Global Standard Risk Assessment (in short: BRCGS ETRS RA) provides you with the basic data you need.
The assessment procedure for working conditions in the food and non-food sector means you can have your sites assessed against "5 vital signs" and you receive a detailed report with a checklist and grade for each vital sign. You can make the report available to stakeholders and/or use it as a basis in order to rectify any negative aspects and improve working conditions on site. This assessment of current status is a valuable tool for your Social Compliance which can also be easily combined with other BRCGS standards for resource saving and lower costs.
Benefits of a BRCGS ETRS RA for Social Compliance
- Demonstrate fair working conditions to consumers and customers
- Efficient assessment of companies in your supply chain for responsible procurement
- Identify weak points and potentials for improvement

FAQs on BRCGS ETRS Risk Assessment
The BRCGS Ethical Trade and Responsible Sourcing Global Standard Risk Assessment (known as BRCGS ETRS RA) is a procedure which is used for assessment of working conditions in the food sector. It was developed by the British Retail Consortium, which has been developing global business standards for twenty years.
The Assessment was developed for organizations working within both the food and non-food areas. These include production and secondary processing or packaging plants in the food sector, employment and recruitment service providers, pest control companies and cleaning services.
A BRCGS ETRS RA will not result in certification. Instead, you will receive a detailed report with valuable data regarding working conditions at your selected locations, which you are free to use as you prefer.
Recertification to the BRCGS ETRS standard takes place after three years. The recertification audit is performed unannounced on site within a time window of 28 days prior to expiry of the current certificate. Your company receives a report on the recertification within 42 calendar days of the audit by TÜV NORD CERT, so that you can continue to use the standard (for example, for marketing purposes).
